Raw materials "the CLAY"

The fundamental raw material for the production of pottery is clay. Clay is generally a sedimentary rock formed by the procedure of decomposition of primary rocks such as: granite, basalt and porphyry.
Clay has the property of absorbing up to 70 % of water and when wet can be modelled to obtain all desired shapes that are preserved by drying.
